    Description

    Montana Frank Rodeo (Riverside, 1910). Poster (28" X 41").
A longtime veteran of Buffalo Bill's Wild West and Congress of the Rough Riders of the World show, "Montana" Frank McCray struck out on his own in the early 1910s to put together his own entertaining assembly of trick riders, cattle ropers, and bull riders. McCray grew up as a pioneer on the American frontier in Butte, Montana with a talent for working with horses, eventually becoming a government scout and a messenger on the Pony Express. He showed off his horsemanship and lasso skills in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show during the majority of the 1890s, including when the company put on their big production at the 1893 World's Fair. This first-time offer from Heritage has some vibrant stone litho colors and has had professional restoration address chipping and paper loss in the borders, creasing in the interior, tears at the edges and interior, and a few small chips in the image area. The top border and "Montana Frank" were trimmed above the upper border art and have been replaced with skillful restoration. Fine on Linen.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
