Description

    Molly O (Associated First National Pictures, 1921). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style B.
The lovely Mabel Normand is prominently featured on this gorgeous stone litho one sheet from this early 20s comedy, produced by Mack Sennett. The Cinderella story about a common girl falling for a rich and handsome doctor was slated for release on October 9, 1921, but was delayed when cast member Lowell Sherman, the villain in the film, was called out as being an attendee at Fatty Arbuckle's infamous party the night of Virginia Rappe's death. The film was released a couple of months later, but Sennett had Sherman's credit removed from the film, in an attempt to prevent controversy that could harm the picture. This beautiful poster has been professionally restored to address a small chip at the lower horizontal fold in the right border, a minor lower left corner chip, a tear near the "O" of the title, and pinholes in the borders. There is a post restoration smudge in the left border, and touchup has been applied to the folds. Very Fine- on Linen.
