World War II Propaganda (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1945). 7th War Loan Poster (26" X 38") "Now..All Together."
Joe Rosenthal's iconic photograph of U.S. soldiers raising the second American flag on Iwo Jima served as the basis for this patriotic poster. Concerned that bond sales might begin to dwindle after the defeat of Germany, officials commissioned illustrator C.C. Beall (known for comics and book covers) to create a poster for a 7th War Loan subscription that would boost bond sales by appealing to the patriotism of citizens. The poster did just that, as the campaign would help sales soar beyond expectations, bringing in over $150 billion. A magnificent item for any World War II collector, this poster not only depicts a defining moment in American history, but also represents a time when a great number of the country's citizens came together to support a cause. The only touchup necessary was to a horizontal crease in the bottom border. Very Fine on Linen.
