    Description

Screen Romances (Dell Publishing, 1933-1938). Overall: Fine/Very Fine. Magazines (4) (Multiple Pages, 8.5" X 11.5") F. Earl Christy Artwork. Miscellaneous.
Offered in this lot are October 1933, November 1934, April 1936, and October 1938 issues of Screen Romances magazine, featuring fantastic cover art by the talented F. Early Christy of Clark Gable and Myrna Loy in Wife Vs. Secretary, and Norma Shearer in Marie Antoinette, along with additional cover pieces on Maurice Chevalier and Sylvia Sidney in The Way to Love, and the one and only Joan Crawford. The magazines also include all sorts of vintage advertisements, glorious photographs, and thought-provoking articles on your favorite Hollywood stars and films, such as Carefree with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Hot Heiress with Olivia De Havilland, James Stewart, Lucille Ball, Carole Lombard in Brief Moment and Love Before Breakfast, Fay Wray in Woman in the Dark, Men On Her Mind with Bette Davis, Jean Harlow, The Voice of Bugle Ann with Lionel Barrymore and Maureen O'Sullivan, Imitation of Life with Claudette Colbert, Gary Cooper, and many, many more. Unrestored magazines that display signs of use. This may include some edge and spine wear, varying degrees of spine separation, limited creasing, light cover smudging or scuffing, small tears, weak page toning, minor paper loss, or relatively infrequent instances of pencil/pencil markings. The Joan Crawford and Norma Shearer issues have somewhat significant surface paper lifts in the front images, which have received slight color correction. The covers of the Shearer issue have also become detached from the pages. It and the Clark Gable issue have been reinforced with cellophane tape on the spine. Overall: Fine/Very Fine.
