    Description

    Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus (1943). Circus Poster (28" X 42", 37" X 42" with Snipe). Miscellaneous.
Credited with saving Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus from financial ruin after the Great Depression, Gargantua was touted as "the largest gorilla ever exhibited." Artist Bill Bailey captures Gargantua's signature sneer, and features the giant ape and his mate reminding everyone to buy war bonds. An unrestored circus poster that displays signs of use. May include light edge or fold wear, slight fold separations, very minor paper loss, pinholes, creases, small tears, or unobtrusive stains. Poster has a snipe advertising specific shows attached along the bottom border. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
