This French exhibition poster, designed by Marcellin Auzolle, was created to promote the very first museum exhibition of movie posters in 1946, presented by the Cinémathèque Française. Featuring a lively illustration of enthralled spectators viewing the Lumière brothers' The Waterer Watered, it honors both the creative power of film advertising and the enduring cultural legacy of cinema's first fifty years. Backed on linen, this piece features no additional restoration and displays light edge wear and light toning.
