    James Stewart Lot (1939 - 1978). Overall: Fine/Very Fine. Autographed Photo (8" X 10"), Autographed Trade Ad (10.25" X 14"), Photos (13) (8" X 9.5" - 8" X 10.25"), Color Photos (3) (8" X 10"), Mini Lobby Card (8" X 10"), Television Photos (3) (9" X 7"), British Front of House Color Photos (3) (8" X 10"), & Trimmed Photo (7.25" X 9.25"). Miscellaneous.
    Offered in this lot is a collection of single weight, glossy finish photos and other items all featuring James Stewart in a few of his many film roles over the years. Titles included as vintage silver gelatin or black and white photos are It's a Wonderful Life (R-1950s), Destry Rides Again (R-1947), The Jackpot (1950), Come Live with Me (1941), Shenandoah (1965), The Shootist (1976), and more. Also included are color photos for The Spirit of St. Louis (1957), British front of house color photos for How the West was Won (1964) and Bell, Book and Candle (1958), a mini lobby card for Fool's Parade (1971), a folded trade ad for Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), and black and white television photos for The Spirit of St. Louis (R-1977), All Star Tribute to Jimmy Stewart (1978), and more. One of the photos for Shenandoah is a behind-the-scenes photo. Unrestored items that display signs of use. May include mild edge and fold wear, creases, checking, pinholes, surface blemishes and indentations, minute chips, small tears, toning, scuffs, smudges, or a few faint stains. The photo for Come Live with Me is by photographer Clarence S. Bull, it is trimmed slightly into the image, and it has noticeable emulsion blemishes. Call Northside 777 has minor paper loss in the bottom border and in the left side of the image area. On the versos may be ink or grease pencil writing, ink stamps, or printed writing. A few of the photos have paper snipes attached to the verso with adhesive. The photo for Destry Rides Again and the trade ad for Mr. Smith Goes to Washington are signed, "Jimmy Stewart." Heritage Auctions believes that the signatures in this lot are authentic, but know before bidding that no Certificate of Authenticity is provided.
