    Vintage gelatin silver, single and double weight, glossy/matte/satin finish photos. Offered in this lot is a massive cross section of Hollywood photos including vaudevillian performers, acrobats and showmen, actors and actresses of the stage and screen, theater locations, events, musicians, and even the presence of the military. These photos show the growing influence of filmmaking and the allure of its grandeur. Many of these photos were taken by famous and popular photographers like Maurice Seymour, Bruno of Hollywood, John E. Reed, Garbo Chicago, and Diaz & Rogers. There are portrait, press release, group, on location, and performance photos of a variety of entertainers like Sidney Poitier, Paul Newman, George Peppard, Leslie Nielsen; musicians like Herman's Hermits, The Titans, 'Fats' Waller, The Gaylords; performers like Trixie, Ted & Flo Vallett, Lindsey Lovely Ladies, The Flying Ivanovs, Don Francisco, and Al Verde. There are many Lowes Theatre location photos from events like Torpedo Run (MGM, 1958) with Glenn Ford and Ernest Borgnine. Also included in this lot are press releases for some of the actors and performers. Each entertainer has their own manila folder. Unrestored photos and press materials that display signs of use. May include light edge or fold wear, creases, tears, minor surface checking, toning, surface scuffs, minor writing indentations, pinholes, and minor stains.
