Description

Fiji Does Its Bit (Paramount, 1918). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Burton Holmes was an American travel writer, lecturer, photographer and filmmaker, who coined the term "travelogue." He was the first to put travel stories, slide shows, and motion pictures all together into documentary travel lectures. After Hollywood became established, he made short travel films for Paramount and later Metro-Goldwyn Mayer. Restoration has addressed fold wear, crossfold separations, and several small chips. Touchup has been applied to the interior and the borders have been airbrushed. From the Dwight Manley Collection.
