Entertainers Photo Lot (Various, 1930s-1950s). Photos (100+) (Various Sizes). Miscellaneous.Vintage gelatin silver, single and double weight, glossy/matte/satin finish photos. Offered in this lot is a wide variety of actors, performers, and musicians known on the stage, screen, and radio, both locally and nationally. There are actors and actresses, singers and band leaders, radio personalities and stage performers, and even a Miss America. Some of the talent in this lot includes one of the greatest jazz female singers in Connee Boswell, actor/singer Mel Torme', actor/singer/activist Harry Belafonte, the great Tenor Ferruccio Tagliavini, performer Rudy Vallee, one of the great contortionists in Meribeth Old, Miss America for 1944 Venus Ramey, and Dr. Quiz radio personality Arthur E. Baird aka Dr. Craig Earl. There are photos of bandleaders and their bands like Boyd Raeburn, Vaughn Monroe, Phil Spitalny and his All-Girl Orchestra, Benny Meroff, Will Osborne; and such actors as John Barrymore, and Gil Lamb. Other actors and actresses appear with these performers such as James Cagney, Lana Turner, Ronald Reagan, and George Raft. Also included is a large collection of war photos. Photographers credited in this lot included Maurice Seymour, Bruno of Hollywood, James Abresch, Bloom in Chicago, James Kriegsmann, and Garbo-Chicago, to name a few. Unrestored photos with an overall presentable appearance. They may have edge wear, creases, tears, surface checking, minor stains, toning, minor paper loss, curling, and paper lifts.
