    Description

Columbia Shorts Exhibitor's Book: 1930-1931 (Columbia, 1930). Exhibitor's Book (11" X 14"). At the dawn of the 1930s, Columbia Pictures was searching for an identity. While the studio languished in B-Westerns and serials, it began to attract attention with a core group of strong short subject films. This 16-page exhibitor's book features some of Columbia's strongest offerings in the market including "Krazy Kat," "Silly Symphonies" and "Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse". Walt Disney had parted ways with Universal Pictures and left behind his most famous character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit only a few years before. Without a star in his animation stable, Disney created Mickey Mouse and entered into a lucrative arrangement with Columbia that would last until the formation of Walt Disney Productions. The spine is beginning to separate and there is wear along the edges of the covers. The minor smudging and scuffing on the covers is over shadowed by the eye-popping color on the inside pages. Fine/Very Fine.
