    Description

    Bray-Pictograph (Paramount, c. 1917). Fine on Linen. One Sheet (28" X 41").
It's Heritage's first time to offer this stone litho one sheet, or in fact any paper from Paramount's Bray-Pictograph series. Bray studios were the first to take the burgeoning art of animation and apply it for educational purposes, employing such future big name cartoonists as Max Fleischer and Paul Terry. The particular segments featured on this one sheet promise entertaining, educational animations of British Tanks, cowboys, economics during World War I, and even the famed visual puzzles of the chess composer Sam Loyd. Backed on linen, this poster has had touchup applied to the folds, some creases, pinholes, and a few tears. There were a couple of small chips in the borders, and the poster has some unaddressed surface wear and paper lifts in the borders. The color remains bright despite its one hundred plus years of age.
