    Offered in this lot is the 44th Annual Academy Awards poster that was held on April 10, 1972 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, in Los Angeles. Highlights include the final public appearance of Betty Grable (who was battling cancer at the time) and The French Connection which won for Best Picture, Best Director for William Friedkin, Best Actor for Gene Hackman, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Film Editing. Other winners include Jane Fonda for Best Actress in Klute, Ben Johnson for Best Supporting Actor in The Last Picture Show, and Cloris Leachman for Best Supporting Actress in The Last Picture Show. Charlie Chaplin received an Honorary Oscar for this contribution in filmmaking. An unrestored poster with an overall presentable appearance.
