    Mickey Mouse in His 8th Birthday Celebration (United Artists, 1936). Silkscreen Poster (40" X 60").
    Special 40" X 60" silkscreen posters were produced by Walt Disney throughout the mid-1930s to advertise his cartoons and characters though very few have survived. This is the only known copy of the large format poster to advertise Mickey Mouse's 8th birthday. The theater that would display this poster would typically run a series of the famous mouse's cartoons to commemorate the event. The borders have been airbrushed, and restoration has addressed a few creases in Mickey's shorts and torso, as well as a some chips and tears in the borders. There is some post-restoration wear to the edges with a few cracks in the airbrushing. Sill visible are a few mild creases and some faint staining in the lower background. The poster is supported with brown paper attached to the verso at the corners and at the top and bottom edge. Due to the nature of the paper and printing, this item will be shipped flat at a greater expense. A must have for any Disney collector, this is an amazingly bright poster and a very rare find!
