DescriptionMetropolis Lot (UFA, 1927). Fine/Very Fine. German Studio Magazine (32 Pages, 6.75" X 9.5"), German Programs (2) (Multiple Pages, 6.5" X 9.5" & 5.75" X 9"), & German Sheet Music (4 Pages, 6.5" X 9.5").
For fans of silent masterpieces, this lot features four fantastic, country of origin promotional items from Fritz Lang's famous masterpiece. Werner Graul's iconic artwork of Maria can be found on this special UFA magazine issued specifically for the film, which is included alongside two theater programs for the picture at the UFA Pavillion am Nollendorfplatz and Rheinschloß Lichtspiele, as well as a piece of sheet music from the weekly sheet music service Jede Woche Musik containing musical motifs from the film. Signs of usage found in the UFA magazine includes edge and spine wear, fold separations, creases, moderate tears, a chip in the back cover, and a few stains. The front and back covers have been completely detached, and there are pieces of cellophane and archival tape at the interior spine and edges for separations and tears. The UFA Pavillion am Nollendorfplatz program shows very wear, and the Rheinschloß Lichtspiele program has hole punches, toning at the spine, and significant fold separations that have been braced with a few pieces of archival tape in the interior. The sheet music some of the general aforementioned wear, as well as a few minor paper lifts. Fine/Very Fine.
Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
