Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol (Tate Gallery, 1971). Art Gallery Poster (20" X 30"). Miscellaneous.
This poster is for an exhibition of Andy Warhol paintings and prints at the Tate Gallery in London, in 1971. The image of Marilyn Monroe was painted by Warhol in 1962 and comes from The Marilyn Diptych, a silkscreen painting which has 50 image variations. All 50 of the images are based on a single publicity photo of Monroe from her film in 1953, Niagara. The Tate now owns the Diptych, which has been voted by artists and critics..."the third most influential piece of modern art." An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, and minor creases and crinkles. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Rolled, Very Fine+.
