    Marilyn by Andre de Dienes (Taschen, 2002). Limited Edition Hardcover Book (240 pages, 16.25" X 19.25"), Reproduction Cover Magazine (24 Pages, 6.75" X 8.75") & Reproduction Photographer's Diary (608 Pages, 7" X 9") in the Original Packaging (15.75" X 19"). First Printing. Miscellaneous.
In 1945, photographer Andre de Dienes met an aspiring model by the name of Norma Jean Baker. The two began a professional relationship that blossomed into a brief romance. In a few short years, Norma Jean would mesmerize the world as Marilyn Monroe. This wonderful first limited edition collection is a visual glimpse of a fresh faced California girl prior to her rise as a global icon. Aside from the extensive hardcover book of beautiful photographs, this collection also contains a booklet with reprints of the 24 magazine covers that de Dienes shot of Norma Jean, as well as a softcover reproduction of de Dienes' Marilyn memoirs and notes that the photographer kept during his relationship with the megastar. The original packaging is a recreation of a distressed Kodak box. The entire collection is in exceptional condition, and the edition number for this book is 5748/20,000. Due to the size/weight of this lot, shipping costs may be higher than usual. Please see full-color, enlargeable images above for more details. Mint.
