Madeleine (Eagle Lion, 1950). British One Sheet (27" X 40").
Young aristocratic Scotswoman Ann Todd is on trial for murder in this courtroom drama from Oscar winning director David Lean. Inspired by a true mid-19th century case that shook the English legal system to the core, the story is told in flashback, leading to the controversial verdict. This rather early directorial effort for Lean was before his rise to great acclaim with such films as Bridge on the River Kwai and Lawrence of Arabia. The gorgeous country-of-origin British one sheet, prior to restoration had only pinholes in the corners. Touchup work has been done to the folds. Very Fine on Linen.
