    Look-Out Sister (Astor, 1947). Poster (41.5" X 52").
Louis Jordan is recognized as one of the chief architects and creators of the rhythm and blues, and later, rock and roll musical idioms. Playing his sax with his combo, the Tympany Six, he reigned supreme in the jumpin' jive circles of the 1940s. Jordon stars, along with the T-6, in this all-black musical, which features eleven first-rate songs, including the title cut, "Jack, You Dead," "Don't Burn the Candle at Both Ends," and "Barnyard Boogie." While resting in a sanitarium, Jordan imagines himself as a gunslinger and the man in charge of a dude ranch. It's up to him to save the beautiful heroine from the bad guy. This is the first time Heritage has offered this piece. Prior to restoration, this poster had pinholes in the corners of the background, a tear and chips in the left and right borders where the two sections join, a chip in the lower border, and paper loss in the red background. Touchup work has been done to the folds. Fine on Linen.
