    Description

    Limousine Life (Triangle, 1918). One Sheet (27.75" X 41").
Olive Thomas began her career in entertainment as a Ziegfeld Girl, appearing in the "Follies" of 1915 and 1916. She became a film star almost immediately when she signed with Triangle in 1916, and was cast in several pictures over the next two years. Thomas made nearly a dozen more films in 1919 and 1920 for Selznick, then departed for Europe with husband Jack Pickford. Soon after, she died of mysteriously ingesting mercury in Paris. In this film, Thomas stars as an intrepid young woman who leaves her small town sweetheart (Joe Bennett) behind to make a life in Chicago, where she finds a job as a model in a fashionable shop. She catches the eye of a wealthy playboy (Lee Phelps) and accepts his marriage proposal. When he becomes bored of her and wants to break things off, she agrees, but only in exchange for a limousine, a large wardrobe, and a fat check. But the rogue hasn't seen the last of her yet, and she's seen looking quite pleased with herself on this very rare stone litho one sheet. A Heritage first, the poster looks terrific after it was restored to address chips in the borders, minor chips in the title and tagline, and small chips and tears in the image. The rendering of Thomas herself is well intact, however, a fine portrait of the rising star. Fine- on Linen.
