DescriptionLibeled Lady (MGM, 1937). Fine+ on Paper. Pre-War Belgian (24.25" X 33"). From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
Jean Harlow, Spencer Tracy, Myrna Loy, and William Powell star in this wonderful screwball comedy about a rabid newspaper editor's plot to avert a libel suit that ends up blowing up in everybody's face. This fun film was nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award, and was remade in 1946 as Easy to Wed with Esther Williams and Lucille Ball. Posters from this film have always been scarce and this incredibly rare pre-war Belgian is a first time offer from Heritage. It shows such signs of use as slight fold wear, a few fold separations, small chips, and pinholes. There are unobtrusive stains and smudges, a bit of writing in the imprint area, as well as a tear from the right edge through Spencer Tracy's forehead.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
