Description

Le Mepris (Cocinor, 1963). Full-Bleed French Grande (44.25" X 62.25") Gilbert Allard Artwork.
Released in the United States under the title Contempt, this film chronicles the destruction of the marriage of Camille (Brigitte Bardot) and Paul (Michel Piccoli), with Jack Palance co-starring as the vulgar American homewrecker. At 29 years old, Bardot was at the peak of her beauty and popularity. The French grande, with its scintillating portrait of Bardot by Gilbert Allard, is a country of origin masterpiece. It has only received touchup to the folds and pinholes in the corners. Very Fine on Linen.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
