Description

Ladies of the Mob (Paramount, 1928). Insert (14" X 36").
Clara Bow rose from a childhood of poverty in Brooklyn to become one of the biggest stars of 1920s Hollywood. With her vivacious personality, exuberant energy and unrivaled beauty, Bow was known as the perennial "It Girl." In this 1928 crime romance, Bow plays Yvonne, whose father has just been executed. Yvonne begins running with the thugs of the underworld and falls in love with bad boy Richard Arlen. This dramatic, shadow filled insert is fraught with tension, as Arlen draws his gun and clutches a wide-eyed Bow. The piece has retained its color nicely and shows only minor handling. There is a dust shadow, a chip and a tear in the left border, faint writing and a tear in the bottom border and a top left corner bend. Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
