    Description

King of the Rocket Men (Republic, 1949). Three Sheet (41" X 81").
One of the few heroic serials that had no precedent in comic books or radio, Rocket Man launched into the American imagination, fully formed, in 1949. Of all the serials produced by Republic Studios, few met with the admiration of the Rocket Man series. In this rousing 12-chapter epic, Jeff King (Tristram Coffin) battles the malicious Dr. Vulcan, who schemes to acquire the Sonic Decimator and thereby dominate the world. This serial proved so popular that in 1951 it was edited to feature length and released as "The Lost Planet," and also inspired multiple sequels. This color infused three-sheet soars to new heights of movie poster greatness! A must have for Rocket Man devotees and fans of dynamite collectibles. The poster is in very fine condition, and shows only pinholes in the borders, one in the background with tape on the verso, there is faint bleed through in the bottom section of the top panel from stamps on the verso, fold wear, cross fold separation, a chip in the bottom border of the top panel, and tape along the borders on the verso of the top panel. Fine/Very Fine.
