    Description

    King Kong (RKO, R-1942). Folded, Fine+. Insert (14" X 36").
As impresario Carl Denham (Robert Armstrong) says, "Holy Mackerel! What a show!" Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World, has been a part of American consciousness for more than 80 years now--a tribute to the vision of producer Merian C. Cooper. He had a dream of a giant gorilla on top of the Empire State Building, and created the film from that striking image. Paper for this reissue very rarely surfaces, especially in this format. Indications of use include some edge and fold wear, pinholes, small chips in the borders, and tears into the interior. Other wear includes, mild toning, slight color fading, and a minor paper lift in the right with light touchup. There is a thin strip of paper tape as well as a piece of cellophane tape on the verso and most of the tears have been repaired with adhesive on the verso.

    Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000.
