    Description

    King Kong (RKO, R-1942). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27.5" X 41").
Considered by most as one of the greatest horror/science fiction/fantasy films ever made, King Kong was certainly one of the most innovative. The stop motion animation created by Willis O'Brien to be intercut with live actors set the standard that eventually led to the high tech CGI animation of today. But the classic story of "Beauty and the Beast" is another reason it is still held in such high esteem. Starring Fay Wray as Ann Darrow, Robert Armstrong as Carl Denham, and Bruce Cabot as Jack Driscoll, the non-stop action, set on a remote jungle island and among the skyscrapers of New York City, with a giant ape running rampant, thrilled audiences upon its initial release in 1933, and still continues to entertain today. Paper for this reissue very rarely shows up, especially in this size. Touchup has been applied to fold wear and separations, pinholes, misfolds, and chipping along the upper horizontal fold. From the Theaters of Old Detroit Collection. Fine+ on Linen.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
