DescriptionKing Kong (RKO, 1933). CGC Graded Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Known as the undisputed King of all monster films, this cinematic masterpiece starred not just Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong, and Bruce Cabot, but also the most terrifying special effects of the era. Although it was already a great project with its superb script and direction by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack, it was truly Willis O'Brien's incredible stop motion animation that stole the show and terrified countless moviegoers. In fact, his technically complex feats nearly gained King Kong a special Academy Award for its stunning visual effects, but O'Brien refused the honor when the rest of his crew would not receive the same recognition. Giving a sneak peek at the tense second before Kong unleashes a violent rampage through New York city, this incredibly rare lobby card has been graded at 7.0 by CGC. Fine/Very Fine.
Estimate: $5,000 - $10,000.
