    Description

Joan Crawford - George Hurrell Photo (Metro Goldwyn Mayer, 1930). Still (11" X 14"). By the time he was eight, young George Hurrell had developed an interest in painting and drawing. He fell into photography almost by accident, originally learning how to use a camera so that he could photograph his paintings. Irving Thalberg and Norma Shearer were so impressed with Hurrell's work that he was hired as head of the MGM portrait gallery in 1930. This lovely silver gelatin print of Joan Crawford was probably done within the first year of his employment there. The print is blind stamped on the lower right corner and has a credit stamp and Crawford's name on the reverse. Very Fine.
