    Description

Jaws 3, People 0 (Universal, 1979). Very Fine-. Original Mixed Media Concept Artwork on Illustration Board (21.5" X 27.5").
Although it never saw a release, Jaws 3, People 0 made it to pre-production at Universal's studios and got as far in the process to have concept artwork made. Producers Richard Zanuck and David Brown brought National Lampoon's Matty Simmons on board and then writers John Hughes and Tod Carroll to devise a comedic, satire-filled, spoof of the extremely successful Jaws movies. The picture was reportedly given the go ahead from a single scene Simmons came up with on the spot during the pitch, in which writer of the Jaws novel, Peter Benchley, meets his demise via shark attack in his own pool. The script includes a character simply called "the director," and although no cast list was ever confirmed, Steven Spielberg was rumored to have been the producers' choice for that part. This concept piece shows many of the antics and misfortunes the characters meet during the film, set to have been directed by Joe Dante. Heritage is pleased to offer this one-of-a-kind artwork for the first time. Signs of handling include light edge wear, small smudges, and surface lifts in the "3" and "0" from the title, some of which has light touchup.
