    Thunderball (United Artists, 1980s-1990s). Scripts (9) (9" X 11.5" & 9" X 14.5").
In the late 1950s, Ian Fleming, Kevin McClory, and Jack Whittingham worked together on several drafts for what they planned on being a possible film or television series involving James Bond. When their collaboration fell to the wayside, Fleming utilized the script the three produced and created his ninth novel, Thunderball. McClory and Whittingham filed suit, as they were not credited, which resulted in the film version of Thunderball being pushed from one of the first releases in the series to the fourth. The lawsuit also resulted in McClory receiving a producer credit for the adaptation of the novel, as well as remake rights ten years after the film's release. After the ten year lapse, McClory pursued a remake, which would eventually become the 1983 Sean Connery film Never Say Never Again. Included are photocopies of script drafts of Thunderball, as well as alternate titled drafts of the remake as James Bond of the Secret Service, Longitude 78 West, and Warhead. Also included is a photocopied script used in the suit between McClory and Albert Broccoli/United Artists. All of the scripts make for fascinating reading, and are in excellent condition. Mint.
