Description
Thunderball (United Artists, 1965). 24 Sheet (103" X 228").Simply stated, this is one of the most magnificent 24 sheets ever created for the British secret agent, James Bond. It features the iconic art of Robert McGinnis and Frank McCarthy of Sean Connery in scuba gear doing battle with the forces of SPECTRE in the clear waters of the Bahamas. The poster also features the classic image of Bond standing very confident, having a martini after trading in his Walther PPK for a speargun. Obviously, the action of the film is highlighted by underwater sequences as Bond attempts to locate and repossess two atomic warheads that went down with a British fighter jet into the ocean. The poster has a few tiny edge tears and some slight foxing on the back of the outside section. These issues are so minor, however, that it doesn't truly impact on the poster which is essentially unused. Posters with art this dramatic will definitely make a statement when displayed. Near Mint-.
