Description
Goldfinger - Corgi 261 James Bond Aston Martin Toy(1965). Die-Cast Model Car in Original Packaging (5" X 1.75" X 1.5").
This original release die-cast Aston Martin toy car from the James Bond thriller Goldfinger, shows minimal wear, creases, and minor tears on the box, with all components inside in excellent condition. It was released in October 1965 and was an outright smash hit with children of the day. The 261 was THE car that propelled Corgi into becoming the dominant force in the die-cast toy market in the late 60's and 70's. It was jam packed full of features and was a miniature work of engineering genius. Most die-cast cars of this age (particularly Dinky cars) had very few (if any) gimmicks or features. The 261 had an, opening roof, ejector seat, bullet proof rear shield and telescopic overriders. Factor in the ejectable baddie, the accessory pack and 2 stage box and this was the only toy to have at Christmas 1965. From the James Bond / Ian Fleming collection of Gary Firuta. Very Fine+.
