    Description

From Russia with Love (United Artists, 1964). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. Italian 2 - Fogli (39.25" X 55") Averardo Ciriello Artwork.
Artist Averardo Ciriello brilliantly depicts Sean Connery as Agent 007 on this magnificent Italian poster, featuring a radically different image than the American paper. James Bond creator Ian Fleming was initially unsure about Connery playing his beloved character, but was reportedly won over upon viewing this second theatrical outing, the first 007 film he had personally seen. After the success of Dr. No, the producers doubled the budget for its sequel, and subsequently production on Goldfinger had already started by the time From Russia With Love was released. Signs of usage includes mild edge and fold wear, some fold separations, creases along the right border, and pinholes. There are small tears, a chip at the bottom, unobtrusive stains and smudges, as well as faint writing bleedthrough in the title. A couple of the tears near the lower crossfold have been braced with cellophane tape on the verso and there are some small pieces of archival tape bracing a few of the folds on the verso. This rare format, with its exceptional Ciriello artwork, is a must for Bond completists!
