Description

Dr. No (United Artists, 1962). German A1 (23" X 33").
The first James Bond story brought to the screen was faithfully adapted from Ian Fleming's book published in 1958. Originally,Thunderball was to be the first in the series, but Fleming was involved in a legal battle over the rights to the story, so Dr. No was given the go ahead. After many attempts to find the right Bond, producer Albert Broccoli's wife mentioned the young man she was impressed with from the film Darby O'Gill and the Little People (1959) by the name of Sean Connery. Heritage is pleased to present for the first time this rare German poster designed and illustrated by Atelier Degen, featuring an actual scene from the film at the top, steamy images of Zena Marshall and the original Bond babe, Ursula Andress, and an excellent likeness of a young, gun-wielding Connery. Very light left edge wear is the only perceptible sign of handling. Folded, Very Fine.
