Description

Casino Royale (MGM, 2006). Screen Used $500,000 Casino Plaque (3" X 4.24" X 1/8").
After much controversy and speculation on whether Daniel Craig was a suitable replacement for James Bond, this action packed installment, based upon the first Ian Fleming/Bond novel, was released to critical acclaim and the naysayers silenced. Craig was here to stay and 007 was back as lethal as the world has ever seen him. Offered in this lot is an official screen used casino poker plaque in the denomination of $500,000. These chip plaques were made uniquely for the poker scenes where James Bond 007 beats Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen) culminating in one final pot of $115 Million, at a high-stakes tournament at the Hotel Splendide's Casino Royale's Salle Privé. Made in very limited quantity and created especially for the film, 125 of each color, for the film by EON Productions of which the production company has kept the great majority in their vault. Produced by Bourgogne et Grasset, the French casino chip manufacturers founded in 1923. They are BG-modified "nacre" style plaques. This ultra-high-value plaque is pearlescent red with translucent black and gold. The text "Casino Royale Montenegro" in black and gold and the value of $500,000 is printed on both sides of the chip. And "Montenegro" and the BG logo and design plate appear printed in gold, on both sides of this plaque. Bourgogne et Grasset standard security features are present, including transparent plaque lunettes. Shown in these photos, see-through casino plaque lunettes glow and cast light when held in front of a light source. Very scarce to find. Near Mint+.
