    Description

    Casino Royale (Columbia, 1967). Italian 4 - Foglios - Set of Three: Woody Allen (55.25" X 76.5"), Peter Sellers (55" X 76.5"), and David Niven (55" X 78").
This superb lot includes what is regarded by many as Woody Allen's greatest achievement...getting drawn by Italian master painter, Georgio Olivetti (La Dolce Vita, Limelight, Some Like it Hot)...on the same poster with Ursula Andress! Signs of wear have been touched up and include: toning along the edges and folds, creases in the bottom section, pinholes, fold wear, a chip in Andress' leg and one where the sections are joined. There are marks on the verso that show through faintly in Allen's jacket. Prior to restoration, the Peter Sellers foglio showed fold wear, a small stain in the red area of the credits, a tear near the center, and a horizontal misfold at the top with small paper loss. The David Niven poster has toning along the edges and folds, small crossfold chips, and tack holes/pinholes in the borders. The three posters display exceedingly well, and it's highly unusual to see the three 4-foglios presented together in the same auction. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
