    Description

    I Walked with a Zombie (RKO, 1943). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Producer Val Lewton was unhappy with the optioned article by Inez Wallace that he had been assigned. The title--I Walked with a Zombie--was great, but he felt that the source material was terribly cliched. What to do? The answer was to combine the voodoo magic of the Caribbean with the loose outline of Jane Eyre to create a fever dream of the undead that outmatches any modern gorefest. There is touchup to the folds, pinholes in the top corners and outer background, and a vertical tear from the top border through the hand. There were also small chips in three borders, the crossfolds, one in the vertical fold, and another in the Zombie Lady's head. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
