DescriptionHouse on Haunted Hill (Allied Artists, 1959). Very Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41"). Reynold Brown Artwork.
A wonderful collaboration between director William Castle and star Vincent Price, this entertaining picture tells the tale of an eccentric millionaire (Price) who invites five strangers to spend the night in his creepy old mansion. Anyone who makes it through the night gets $10,000, but the catch lies in surviving long enough to collect the money. As with many of Castle's films, this one had a gimmick, Emergo, in which, at a certain point in the film, a plastic skeleton would emerge from a black box near the screen and swoop over the heads of the audience. The eerie artwork by master of the macabre Reynold Brown makes this one sheet a highly desirable item. Prior to restoration, the poster had a chip in the bottom right corner, some surface paper loss at the bottom and right borders, and fold wear.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
