House on Haunted Hill (Allied Artists, 1959). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Reynold Brown Artwork.
Frederick Loren (Vincent Price) makes several strangers an offer they can't refuse: spend a single night in my haunted mansion and receive $10,000. The catch is, they have to be alive to collect in the morning! This fun film earned such large profits - no doubt bolstered by producer William Castle's usage of the "Emergo" gimmick, in which a plastic skeleton on a wire flew out at the audience at a key point in the film - that it led director Alfred Hitchcock to create his own low-budget horror picture, Psycho (1960). Restoration has addressed a chip in the right border slightly into the background, and pinholes in the corners into the background. The poster shows some fading to color. The borders have some airbrushing, and touchup has been applied to the folds. Fine+ on Linen.
