Description
The Vampire Lovers by Tudor Gates (American International, 1969). Very Fine. Final Script (120 Pages, 8.5" X 11") in Custom Quarter-Leather Clamshell Box (9.5" X 12").This is the final draft for the 1970 Hammer horror film, with script revisions and hand-written corrections throughout. The script was based on the 1872 story Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu about a female vampire. This story was a major influence on Bram Stokers' Dracula. Ingrid Pitt stars as the vampire, along with Pippa Steel, Madeline Smith and Peter Cushing. The script has red studio wrappers, with a die-cut window to the title. The revision pages are dated between January 9, 1970 and February 3, 1970. This was Hammer's first co-production with American International Pictures and this script is possibly the screenwriter's copy. The interior pages are in excellent condition, the wrappers have some fraying to the left edge of the front wrapper, and a small stain on the bottom.
