The Phantom of the Opera (Universal, 1925). Title Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Universal Pictures made the entrance into horror films with this adaptation of Gaston Leroux's novel. Lon Chaney portrayed Eric, the Phantom, and the picture went on to become one of the greatest films ever produced by Universal. This title card depicts Chaney, not in makeup as the Phantom, but as he appeared in real life. The card has slight wear to all four corners with a tiny chip out of the lower left. There are two small stains in the upper center border. Very Fine-.
