    Description

The Most Dangerous Game (RKO, 1932). Half Sheet (22" X 28").
For collectors looking for that collection-defining piece, here it is - one of the rarest and most coveted half sheets from the 1930s horror genre. Heritage has the pleasure of offering this sensational poster from RKO's Most Dangerous Game for only the second time in our history. Based on Richard Connell's famous story, the film was shot on the same sets and produced by the same people (Willis O'Brien and Ernest B. Schoedsack) as 1933's King Kong. Shipwrecked on a remote island, a group of innocent survivors are imprisoned and forced to become human prey by a deranged big-game hunter, tired of "ordinary" prey. The evil Count Zaroff himself (Leslie Banks) fixes his gleaming, predatory gaze on his two helpless victims, Fay Wray and Joel McCrea, on this evocative poster. Original paper from this title has always been challenging to find, and it's with great pride Heritage presents this half sheet, which is displaying quite well after careful correction of some wear. The piece was previously folded, but has been pressed and masa backed. There has been color touchup applied to the folds with fantastic results, and touchup to light stains and creases, small chips and tears in the borders, a tear in the left border slightly into the image area, and small tears and chips in the lettering. Savvy collectors will want to capitalize on this remarkable opportunity to own one of the early horror genre's most treasured posters! Folded, Fine.
