Description
The Leopard Man (RKO, 1943). Six Sheet (80" X 81").Certainly a rare and exciting find for horror collectors, this is the only copy of the film's incredible original six sheet, as far as Heritage is aware, that remains in existence today. What's more, this format has the best artwork out of all of the film's posters by far, using an excellent choice of colors to amplify the eerie atmosphere and sheer terror built throughout the story. Once again, the genius horror team of producer Val Lewton (of Cat People and I Walked with a Zombie fame) and director Jacques Tourneur return with this macabre gem based on the Cornell Woolrich novel, Black Alibi. A dark and brooding film set amongst the stark dunes of the New Mexican desert, this horror cult classic could almost be considered ahead of its time with its goal of realistically portraying the habits of a serial killer, a term that wouldn't even be coined until over thirty years later. Bearing a striking image, this poster shows light edge wear with small tears, some fold wear with light separations, creases in the bottom right border, and diagonal creases in the right side panels. The poster has small chips and tears towards the bottom and in the bottom border. This poster is in four sections as originally printed. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
