Offered for the first time at Heritage, this is a six sheet for the third appearance of Creature from the Black Lagoon's Gill-man. By far the best promotional item on the film, Reynold Brown's artwork achieves its true grandeur on this large-format beauty. The film follows scientists who capture the Gill-man and attempt to transform him into an air-breathing humanoid, leading to tragic consequences when he turns on his captors. The genre shift from horror to science fiction and explores themes of human arrogance and lost identity. Backed to linen, the poster received touchup to fold wear, interior tears, and chips to the panel borders (most of which are covered by other overlapping segments). The blank borders have been airbrushed. Thanks to these efforts, the poster presents spectacularly well.
