Description
The Body Snatcher (RKO, 1945). One Sheet (27" X 41").Another great horror classic from combining the star power of Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, RKO brought Robert Louis Stevenson's tale to life with the thrills and chills audiences had come to expect from the ghoulish duo. Director Robert Wise enlisted the help of experienced horror producer Val Lewton, known for his cult classic hits Cat People and I Walked with a Zombie, with the adaptation of the screenplay. Karloff's looming image and appropriately ghastly palette make this ominous one sheet shine in any horror collection. Restoration has addressed pinholes in the borders, two chips in the bottom border and upper left corner, a vertical tear on the side extending from Karloff's hand and the top of the title lettering, and touchup has been applied to the folds and portions of the left and bottom borders. There is unrestored light foxing throughout the poster, but otherwise it displays beautifully. From the Collection of Lynn Naron. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
