    Description

    Son of Frankenstein (Universal, 1939). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style A.
This would be Boris Karloff's third and last appearance in the role as the Monster; at 51 years of age, he was getting too old to deal with the eight hour make-up job by Jack Pierce. The film remains a classic from Universal's horror library and the posters remain very hard to find. This is the first time we have offered this Style A half sheet and we are very pleased to be able to present it. The "red" Style B half sheet to the film sold with us in 2007 for $89,625! It's possible that this poster has been backed with a thin layer of masa paper, and restoration has addressed signs of handling: a chip in the upper center border and into the "ris" of "Boris," wear and chipping in the top of the upper border, pinholes in the borders, a small chip in the lower right corner, and some wear and seperation on the vertical fold and at the crossfold. The meticulous touchup has returned the half sheet to a beautiful appearance. Folded, Fine+.
