Vintage gelatin silver, single weight, glossy photos. Included in this terrific group of images is a portrait photo of Claude Rains -- one of the best images we've ever seen of the star in Universal's remake of Gaston Leroux's classic novel The Phantom of the Opera. Rains had achieved fame "appearing" in The Invisible Man and so Universal wanted to expand it's stable of horror talent by featuring the star in another horror film. Also included are dazzling photos of stars Susanna Foster, Nelson Eddy, Jane Farrar, and two fantastic conception illustrations of cast members by noted Swedish caricaturist Kroll. Each photo has a publicity snipe attached to the verso, with light wrinkling. Very Fine/Near Mint.
