    Description

    King Kong (RKO, 1933). Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Forever melded into the consciousness of film fans everywhere as the first king of movie monsters, Merian C. Cooper and Ernest Schoedsack's colossal creation thrilled audiences from the first moment of this primal adventure's sensational release. A marvel of cinematic ingenuity, special effects pioneer Willis O'Brien combined a bevy of techniques to bridge the gap between live action footage and the stop motion monster. He particularly wowed moviegoers with this remarkable scene, using a cutting edge optical printer to create this shot of Kong brutally shaking his pursuers into the chasm below. Already a scarce and highly sought after item by collectors, this card possesses some of the strongest colors that Heritage has ever seen, making it a choice piece that would display beautifully in any setting. Just as phenomenal, the card's excellent condition is a rarity within itself, showing only a few small corner bumps, some very light edge wear, a smudge in the lower orange background, and a thin dust shadow in the right border. Perhaps the best condition copy of this card we've ever seen. Very Fine+.
