Description
King Kong (RKO, 1933). French Grande (47" X 62.5") Style B Rene Peron Style.King Kong is recognized the world over as one of the greatest monster films ever created, thanks to its landmark special effects that would introduce a whole new dimension to movie making. The stop-motion effects animation of Willis H. O'Brien still fills viewers with a sense of wonder and amazement, as he was able to give his creation something even modern film creatures lack: personality. The ability to connect with Kong through his expressions gave him a depth that made the character more than just a monster. This poster showcases a glorious Art Deco image by artist Rene Peron of the classic climax. Peron would go on to make a great name for himself over the next three decades producing artwork of quality similar to that seen on this incredible poster. Restoration has addressed pinholes in the corners, a light stain in the upper left corner, a tear in the left border near Kong's hand, and a small chip in the center crossfold. Some touchup has been done to the folds. Only the second time Heritage has offered this fabulous poster, it remains one of the most elusive from the film! Very Fine- on Linen.
