Description

Freaks (MGM, R-1949). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). Though directed by Tod Browning of "Dracula" fame, MGM quickly shelved this film following its initial 1932 release. Exploitation film distributor, Dwain Esper, bought the rights and traveled the country in the late 1940s showing the film under alternate titles such as "Forbidden Love" and "Nature's Mistakes." The title card shows staining in the borders and pencil notations on the back, as well as staple holes in the top left corner and the bottom right corner. The cards have pinholes both in the corners and center fields, scuffing on the face of the Living Torso card, paper tape on one card in the top border, and rounded corners. Five of the scene cards have light folds to fit in an 8" X 10" theatre frame. Very Good+.
